Electronic charge density of the relaxed model of Al4(Cr,Fe). The left panel shows a flat layer (x=0; i.e. looking down on the y-z plane), the panel in the middle the "puckered" layer and the right panel is from the vantage point where y=0. The Cr and Fe atoms are brighter indicating a strongly peaked charged density, while the Al atoms are darker. |
