Phys. Rev. B 64, 092403 (2001) [4 pages]Theory of spin-wave excitations of metallic A-type antiferromagnetic manganitesReceived 10 December 2000; published 7 August 2001 The spin dynamics of the metallic A-type antiferromagnetic manganites is studied. An effective nearest-neighbor Heisenberg spin-wave dispersion is derived from the double-exchange model taking into account the superexchange interaction between the core spins. The result of inelastic neutron-scattering experiment on Nd0.45Sr0.55MnO3 is qualitatively reproduced. Comparing theory with experimental data, two main parameters of the model—nearest-neighbor electron-transfer amplitude and superexchange coupling between the core spins—are estimated. © 2001 The American Physical Society URL:
