Two different theoretical approaches in the determination of spin polarization by point-contact Andreev reflection are discussed and compared from an experimental perspective. Both models can be used to extract spin polarization from experimental results for a variety of ferromagnetic materials including half-metallic CrO2. The difference in values of polarization as determined by two models is less than 0.02.
