B 62, 12577–12580 (2000)Modified perturbation theory applied to the two-impurity Anderson modelReceived 28 February 2000; revised 21 April 2000; published in the issue dated 15 November 2000 We have constructed a modified perturbation theory for the two-impurity Anderson model. The impurity Green’s functions interpolate between the strong and weak coupling limits. The first three spectral moments of the impurity Green’s functions are exactly reproduced. The zero-frequency behavior is also exactly recovered by imposing the Friedel sum rule. We discuss the height and width of the Kondo peaks in the even/odd channels as functions of the interimpurity distance. © 2000 The American Physical Society URL:
