B 54, 15156–15162 (1996)Magnetic vortex mass in two-dimensional easy-plane magnetsReceived 29 May 1996; published in the issue dated 1 December 1996 The dynamical mass of a vortex in a two-dimensional easy-plane magnetic model is calculated from the translational mode spectrum and an effective force constant for the vortex in a finite lattice system.
