The analysis of high-resolution electron-microscopy images of the stable Al62Cu20Co15Si3 decagonal quasicrystal shows a long-range aperiodic translation order similar to that of Penrose tiling. Thus this particular decagonal phase could be interpreted as a phason-perturbed quasiperiodic crystal.
