We report high-resolution x-ray-scattering experiments on the quasi-one-dimensional charge-density-wave material blue bronze. At low tempertures, a dc electric field applied along the chain direction causes the superlattice peaks to split in a direction perpendicular to the chain direction. The possible origin of this effect is discussed.
