The far-infrared (FIR) reflectance of the high-Tc superconductor La1.85Sr0.15CuO4 has been measured in the frequency range 15 to 400 cm-1. Below the superconducting onset temperature T=36 K, absorption features in the FIR spectrum indicate an energy gap with a functional form similar to the BCS gap, but with a smaller magnitude.
